Sony has said today that they are working on non exploding batteries for all of their laptops. Sony Electronics president Stan Glasgow said in a meeting with the press that the company is working on lithium polymer batteries that are safer than lithium ion batteries and they hope to integrate this technology into their laptops in the “near future”.
Lithium polymer batteries are safer because the lithium is contained in gel packs that do not have to be squeezed into tight spaces that have caused many battery explosions over the past few months.
