Dubai-based real estate developer Omniyat Properties has announced that they plan to spend $800 Million or more to build a 23 story building based on the Apple iPod. The building will be in the shape of an Apple iPod tilted on an iPod dock.

“Our aim was to launch three projects this year but strong market demand encouraged us to deliver more. Out of the entire portfolio, we have sealed sales worth approximately Dh2.4 billion,” said Mehdi Amjad, president and CEO of Omniyat Properties, an arm of Almasa Holdings.

Construction will start next year in 2007 and is expected to be completed by 2009. The iPad will be in the Business Bay of Dubai and the concept was designed by Hong Kong-based architects James Law Cybertecture International.
