heatindicatorspoons.jpgA few days ago we posted about new color changing faucets where the water is blue when cold and gets more reddish in color as the temperature of the water rises. Well, the same concept has no been applied to spoons. The new spoons are meant to be used with soup, but can be used to eat pretty much anything and will change colors based on the temperature of their surroundings. Plus, they are pretty inexpensive and a pack of three can be purchased for just $9.50.

bowlinglamp.jpg

Today we came across these new bowling pin lamps that illuminate when standing up and can only be shut off if they are knocked down or the bulbs fuse. These pins are meant more as a novelty gadget or night light then pins that you actually use for bowling, but if you want to bowl in the dark with illuminated pins, these lamps are regulation size bowling pins at 15 inches tall and are made of plastic so you don’t have to worry about the shattering when the bowling ball hits them. However, good luck finding them when you get a strike.

You can purchase a bowling pin lamp for $22 a piece at Shopfosters

clocky.jpg

Clocky, the beloved rolling alarm clock from MIT that we have been hearing about for some time, is now finally on the market. This new alarm clock rings one time only and if you snooze or let it keep ringing without getting up and turning it off, it rolls away. That’s right, this alarm clock rolls away from your night stand or wherever you keep your alarm clock, and keeps ringing and flashing forcing you to get up and find it. I have a feeling people are going to end up getting really ticked off with these new alarm clocks… especially when they roll behind something that you can’t reach.

We will let you know when we get pricing information. Sharper Image has a reputation for being quite pricey.

hansa_hansacanyon_faucet.jpg

This is the coolest and most modern water faucet I have ever seen. Not only does this faucet have a very sleek design, the color of the water changes as the temperature of the water changes to warn you of very hot or very cold water. This is the World’s First Color Changing LED faucet, and though it is not in stores yet, this is yet another upgrade to make on my home improvement list. As one may expect, the water is blue when cold and red when hot with various shades of orange, yellow, and light blue in between. We will update you when we get more information on availability and pricing.

LG has created a new line of monitors that combine the Intel Celeron M430 1.7GHz processor and a 22-inch LCD flat panel TV that allows you to surf the Net and watch the game on the same screen.

The $2000 TVPC seems like a great idea, but I doubt many people are going to watch their TV from less than a foot away from the screen. Personally, I would rather spend $2000 on a 30” LCD TV and a laptop. LG also announced that they will be releasing a number of different versions of the TVPC in the near future.

Beds with built-in LCD TV’s have almost become common place these days; however, the new Ruf-Cinema LCD TV / Bed combo is the nicest we have seen both in terms of features as well as style. This new combo features a sleek silver center console and bed side tables as well as a projection screen that rises at the simple push of a button.

The center console of the bed holds the projector and has extra racks for books, magazines, remotes, etc. Any video game console or DVD Player can also be used. You can see more photos on the official product page but we were not able to find any pricing information. However, you can bet it will be very expensive.

hdtv.jpgFrom what I have seen, everyone wants to get HDTV and to watch television programming in the highest clarity possible. In my experience, watching television shows and sporting events in HDTV is ten times better than watching in standard definition and the difference is apparent when you flip from the normal version of a channel to the HD version of that same channel.

However, according to the New York Times, fewer people are ponying up the dough to upgrade to HDTV: “According to a recent survey by Frank N. Magid Associates, the number of people buying [HD] sets who are looking forward to watching television shows in hi-def format has actually declined, to 47 percent from 63 percent two years ago. And while nearly half of current owners of HDTV sets said that their main reason for buying one was to watch programs in HD, only 25 percent of those now shopping for the sets feel that way.”

What is your take? Do you think HDTV is not worth the price?

The new iSymphony M1 iPod dock is one of the first iPod docks we have seen that focuses more on being a home audio system, than being an iPod dock. It also can play all types of iPods whether you have the standard one, an iPod Video, an iPod Shuffle, or the iPod Nano.
